| Anybody can give me the link on cisco site which describes differences between Synchronous and Asynchronous in depth ? | |

| Cant give you a link, but I think that synchronous is more of an digital signal coming in at a steady rate, where as asynchrounous is an analog signal. I think this from Electronics along time ago, but I could be wrong. Its been a while. | |

Search cisco for it. Synchronous means that there is a Synchronousized CLOCK rate between the two devices. This makes it very fast in speed because they know when to send each other.
Asynchronous means that each device has a seperate timing mechanizism. All analog devices use this including isdn. They have to send there data then send a syn packet afterwards with error checking to show there asyn.
In synchronous connections they can send tons of data without doing it.
