Need to name two circuit-switched connections

A. ISDN
B. X.25
C. Frame Relay
D. Point-to-point
E. Asynchronous serial

bit of confusion is it
A+E or A+B

Thanks

X.25 and Frame are packet-switched networks. Circuit-switched is a type of network in which a physical path is obtained for and dedicated to a single connection between two end-points in the network for the duration of the connection.

With this in mind I would lean towards answers A and E.

You're right WaldoIsHere,

This sounds like one of those trick questions that are meant to confuse you more that anything else.

This question is from the Testking's BCRAN Q/A pack.

X.25 is claimed to be right because it can also operate over ISDN BRI D channel with a 9.6 kbps speed, thus being a circuit-switched connection. But this is an exception, generally X.25 is regarded as a packet-switched technology so B is not right, I think.

But - is E also right? We are now talking about asynchronous interface - just about interface, not a technology which uses it. According to my knowledge, POTS is not the only one which makes use of it.

A. ISDN - Is a digital circuit switched technology
B. X.25 - Is a packet switched technology
C. Frame Relay - Is a packet switching technology
D. Point-to-point - Is a leased line technology
E. Asynchronous serial - can be either leased or circuit switched. When used in a circuit switched capacity you can get switched 56/64 which is digital or dial up which is analog.

Obviously B,C, and D are the wrong type of technologies. That leaves A which is blatantly CS and E which is the only possible option left.
