OK I`m able to get a WS-C5000 with suporvisor II and 4 12x 10/100 blades inc. 2 Powersupplies.

Is this device the right one for Multilayerswitching and fit all ccnp labs?

I would also buy a 1924 en or a 2924 en.

This both devices (5000 full loaded + 1924 en or 2924 en)must be enough for CCNP or ?

I must know it, because I would pay 780$ for the Cat 5000. Wrong Unit and I can shoot myself :-)Because I would have no money to buy another unit from this priceclass.

please answer me and thanks in advanced

I don't think you need a Cat 5000 to prepare for your CCNP. Instead buy about 4 2500 series routers and 2 2924XL. That will cover most of what you will be studying in the 4 courses.
I wonder why you are basing the devices you need for CCNP on Multilayer Switching, which is only a chapter in the Switching course. You need devices that will cover the most on all 4 courses.

Worse again the Cat 5000 with a Supervisor II Engine won't be able to run Multilayer Switching, because you need to replace that Supervisor with either Supervisor II G, Supervisor III G, or Supervisor III with NFFC II, then add a Route Switch Module (RSM) or a Route Switch Feature Card (RSFC). (Sorry about the technical jargon)And this is just to run Multilayer Switching, this is why I think you don't need to buy a Cat 5000.

Hi Thanks for the advice.

I allready have 4 Cisco 2500.
(2501/2503/2504/2513 each Full loaded)
And 1x 4000M+ with NP-4t for framerelay Labs.

Well than I`ll buy 2x 2924 XL EN
And thats all I need, to cover all 4 exams ? Somebody told me to buy a ISDN Sim too. Now my question is this sim really so important ?

I don't know what is included in the ISDN simulator you are talking about, as I have never used that one. I took my Remote Access course with Cisco Network Academy and the school had all the devices including a simulator device, yes this is a hardware device with telnet access for configuring it. I wish I could have this device in my own lab. I believe the name is ADTRAN or something close to that spelling. Anyway this device comes with ISDN BRI, Asychronous Dial-up, Frame Relay and some other stuff. And using that simulator helped me understand what is going on in the background, for e.g. how a dialup starts all the way till the connection is established.

Now if you can afford it, I would say go for it because my philosophy about learning equipment is this: every little bit you add gives you the opportunity to understand what you are studying BETTER AND EASILY. The point is, it's very difficult to have all the equipments to perform everything you are studying for the CCNP, because the devices are so expensive. However if you have the means to acquire them, I would only wish you luck to use them and enjoy them.
