| Hello All
I was wondering if we had links to help us prepare for the new ccnp bcran (642-821) exams like we had when ccna was scaled to 640-607 from the 507 exam.
Secondly can someone tell me when the new exams will commence, and what immplication will be if i dont complete the old set of exams before the sept 7 dead line? (will i forfeit any exams taken and passed?)
Thanks

| I believe I read that any of the 640-5xx and 640-6xx exams will count toward CCNP, but anything older than those will not. I had the same concern since I have the 503 and 604, and I do recall what I just stated above. | |

| If you're taking took the exams that are still being offered until September 7th, you can mix 640- series exams with 642- series. You can also take the 640- series until mid October as long as you register by September 7th. I think you can take them up to 45 days after if I recall correctly.
More info is available at Cisco's certification support site:

| Although the last day for registering 640-901 is 7-sep-2003. And you have 45 days after registering it to take the this exam. These are all corrected.
However, All old exams that you have taken and these old exams have already been retired and you want to count toward your CCNP or CCDP certificate you must complete the remaining exam such as 640-901 by the 2-sep-2003. Otherwise old and retired 640-xxx series will no longer count toward your certificate.
Remember the date is 02-sep-2003 for all old and retired exam to be valided. Example if you have done "switching exam" the old one call CLSC. this one has been retired for sometimes and you want it to count toward your CCNP. After 02-sep-2003 they will forfeit CLSC.
So if you only have one last exam to do such as BSCI (640-901) and you think that you will complete it on the 7-sep-2003 thinking that you will qualify for CCNP then you wrong. Because the CLSC has been forfeit from your track and thus you still have to do the switching again but with the new switching exam eg. BCMSN 642-811 |
