| Does anyone know the main difference between these two tests? I am starting my CCNP and want to be prepared for the worst, like I always have to do when I start a Cisco cert.
Any comments would help thank you! | |

| Glad I could help! It is true that 2207 is a big difference for you to overcome; look at the bright side, I took exam 640-404, so I would have to overcome a whopping 2407 if I was in your shoes! Please don't take the time to look up the exam objectives on Cisco's website; I am more than happy to help you out all I can! Good luck! | |

| If its any help, a representative from the Knowledgnet course site told me that the new exam is vastly different and has a heavy concentration on the Catalyst 6500 series switch. | |

| The 640-604 retires soon and will be replaced by the 642-811. The last day to schedule a test for 640-604 is Sept 7 then you have up to 45 days after that to actually take the test.
All the CCNP tests (640-60*) were supposed to retire on Aug 7 but that date was extended for another month.

| I just took a KnowledgeNet course for the 642-811. I cannot seem to find anyone out there (so far have checked Transcender and Self Test) with exam prep software for this exam. Too new I guess. | |

| Thanks for the info, I was a little confused on their site because one area (the test expiration list) said that the tests were no longer valid after August 7th, but under the main description it said you could register until September 7th. Maybe I'll be able to sneak another of the old ones in after all.... | |

| Hi MattyJV:
I have the same question you did in July. Please, Could you (or someone) share a helpful advice about the 642-811 exam for someone who studied for the 640-604? |
