Taking BCRAN in a couple of weeks. I plan on using the CCNP curriculum and the Sybex 605 book. I've taken Routing and Switching in the past and was curious if anyone had any suggestions.

Wish me luck.

Not a great score, but I have never been very good at Cisco exams. I took 640-605 so I can't give you guys any insight into the beta exams. However, if you are taking 605, I warn you know your modems well. For example, what is the difference between a V.34bis and an Annex 12? I won't go into too much detail, but be sure to go over backup interfaces, modems, and frame relay configurations. The other topics were minor compared to those... be sure to know your Cisco 700 and 800 series routers and what capabilities they have. Good luck guys! I'll be working on switching next I think, if you have any tips for me on that one any help is appreciated. All my materials are outdated because of the 642 exams, but I don't know if there are that many new improvements that will be covered.

Thanks for in insight. Switching isn't too bad, for the 604 exam know your older switches better than your newer ones, such as 5000s and 1900s. Also know your 2900s, 4000s and 6500s. Make sure you know the different Set commands and IOS commands. Another major topic was multicasting, routing and switching wise. That's all I can think about atm, just make sure you know it all and you'll be fine. The 642 series exams are supposed to take all the older technologies such as ATM and the older switches out of the exam, but other than that I dont know much about it.

Thats all for now.
Happy studying.
