Cisco Press has two books that seem very similar. I will buy one but am looking for a recommendation. One book is written by Clare Gough, and the other is by Catherine Piquet and Diane Teare.

I will be using it to prepare for the BSCI exam (640-901).

Thanks,
Derek

derekfairley,
I use the Sybex book for BSCI and thought it was great for this particular exam.
Best of luck!

The best book and the bible for the BSCI is the foollowing one.

I greatly appreciate her style of writing. She was a trainer at Global Knowledge who are Cisco's premier training partners. Also her expressing the technical stuffs in simple English is very beautiful. In the exam you wouldn't find any single question asked out of this book. Yes its a bible.

Do NOT use the Clare Gough book. This is the standard sentiment across many Cisco candidates.

You need only look at the feedback for the books on Amazon.

I just happen to finish taking the CCNP routing exam. Used the Diane Teare book.

good luck.

ROUTERRIP,
You are right...Clare Gough is not the one prescribed for the exam. I also got a copy of the book. Its a mere waste of time and money....such a poorly written book I have ever read.

OH Crap. I bought and read the Clare Hough Book. My test is scheduled for this thursday.
Of course her book was not the only source of studying I used.

One question, I know communities have no physical or logical boundaries.
How about Peer-groups. My understanding is that a Peer-Group does not have to be in one AS. Peer groups can span multiple AS.
Is this correct.
