New Exams Vs. Old Exams

| Anyone got any hints on what is best to take.. I have one test left for CCNP.. (Troubleshooting).
When you look at Cisco's page and compare the old exam with the new 8xx series exam, there is a whopping difference in the subject matter listed. In fact it would appear the new tests are covering less ground!!! What gives ??!!..

| I'm facing the same dilemma. Do I go for the old CIT before 7th Sept + 6 weeks or wait until April until I finish the relevant Networking Academy Semester? Fact is the old CIT has had study material around for a while so I'm tempted to go for that. There's no guarantee the CNAP Semester will cover the new CIT material anyway. If Cisco Press supplied the new study material at the same time as they changed the exams it would be a bit fairer. I've got to get through the CID on 11th August first so will leave my decision until after then I think.
Good luck whatever you decide!

| Yeah I hear you, but you know, my question is, does the NEW exam topics not seem DRASTICALLY shorter than the topics listed for the old exam?
I mean, it would give the impression the new CIT exam is easier compared to old one.

| hello,
I'd guess that if the subject range is reduced then the questions on that range will be 'deeper', ie, harder.
Consider the CCNA...it's been said in the past that it covers a wide range of topics but the questions are easier than, say, the BSCI which has fewer topics but harder questions.
I found the old CIT to be the easiest exam of the four.
