Author failed switching....

Guys, I am really pissed at this point. I failed the test by 20 freaking points. The test covered mainly "what switch to use when" and what module goes with what switch. I do blame this on me, but man that test really sucked on the wording. VERY general questions with answers that didnt make very much sense. I have taken 12 tests in my career, with no failures. This is my first failure and again, I do blame me, but that test really stunk. Anyone else feel that way about it?

Yeah I really don't like those vague types of questions, specially when in reality there is a lot of alternative ways to do things that may not fit into the 100% ideal according to cisco.

Studying switching right now.

You're taking a Cisco exam about Cisco equipment and you complain about doing it Cisco's way?

I realize it may sound harsh though it is not intended to be, but I have said it before and will say it again. Very few if any questions are vague or general if you really understand the subject.

Dude,

Don't let this failure overwhelm you. Take it as just one of the battles during a war. You can take it again but it's got to be right now or soon. And you now have advantage over those who have never sat for it. Don't let it wait, "beat the iron while it's still hot", this is the right time to get back in the books and study and practice then go back within 2 weeks the most. You'll be surprised how you'll come out with a pass.

Get to work right now and Good Luck!!!

Actually Yankee, I believe I know what a vague question is and what one is not. Im telling you that they were as I said. Now, I also did say that it was my fault for failing, but I also do know that I do know alot of that material. Most of that test was geared toward more product usage instead of technical theory. You wouldnt know that since you probably didnt take the very same test as I did. Again, Im not trying to make excuses and I did take the blame for failing, if you read carefully.

Nope, I didn't take your version of the switching test but I did take the version 1 and version 2 as well as all of the dang tests CNNP AND CCDP, including the CCIE written, so I am more than familiar with Cisco exams.
The discussion about vague questions has been covered here many times and those with experience say there are not many vague questions. Those with little experience say there are many. Draw your own conclusion...

Good for you on your experience. I hope you go far. But as for your conclusion goes, that is funny. "I have taken more exams that you have, so I know more that you do about cisco exams." That is exactly what you are saying and you sound like a real idiot. I am talking about vague questions. I could tell you a story about the x chormosome and you would know if I was being detailed or vague. It doesnt take a real genius to figure it out.

ok dude think what ya want. My comments were intended for you and the multitude of other readers, many of whom in past threads have agreed with me on this exact point. Go ahead in one breath and say it was your fault, while in the next blame Cisco. If it works for you that is great, but for the others I shall continue to say know the subject and you'll do fine on all Cisco exams including the Lab.

Yankee, leave the combative little b*tch to his own devices; it's not worth it. You're not the first he picked a fight with, and you won't be the last. It's not your fault that he isn't smart enough to pass the switching exam (arguably the easiest exam of the bunch).
