This was a hard test for me. I don't deal with the switches where I work at that much. They never break and we don't change the configs much. Anyhow passed the exam with a 791. Lots of Multicast, MLS, and a few questions that surprised me concerning what type of switch to use in what situation. Good Luck to all that take this exam. On to the Routing Exam next. My CCNA expires in Sept so I have to bust my XXX to get the CCNP before then.

Variable,
Congratulations on your pass!
I believe by passing this test Cisco will renew your CCNA. It's great to go for CCNP but I think the one professional level test is enough to renew CCNA.
Best of luck!

Hmmm. I will have to look into that. That would be great. Still I am going to pursue the other three tests. What is the typical order people take the exams?

Variable,
Different people go in different orders.
I took BSCI then Switching and I'm now preparing for Remote Access. I understand most people end with Support. I have heard that is the toughest.

Congrats Variable!!!
Good Luck for the other tests.

And like Townsend stated, once you've passed this test, you've renewed your CCNA. I have seen that info but I gave up looking up the link on the Certification Online Support, as I don't have much time. If you just want to reassure yourself, that's where you will find the info or ask the question.

About the order or the courses, it appears Cisco recommends Routing first and Support last but you don't have to follow that so people choose their own order. But I think most people follow the path Routing, Switching, Remote Access and Support.

Could you please tell us what materials you used to study, such as books, simulators or switches, practice tests...etc.

Variable,

I apologize for providing you with outdated information. I guess this new recertification rule came out with the new 642-XXX tests.

Thanks to Adorik for finding the latest information, otherwise I would be using the outdated information as well.
