Hi,

In the Cisco CCNP Remote Access Exam Certification Book, it wrote that to enable Caller ID Screening so router can accept call only from specified callers we must use "isdn answer" command. But I think the correct command is "isdn caller" or "dialer caller"

Pls help me to clear this problem
Thank

Ok!

Now I know that "isdn answer1" command use in case you have multiple router connect to the same ISDN line and you want only the router desired is answer call.

"isdn caller" command use in case you want your router answer only the call from specify caller.

Is this clear!!!

I do not believe your information to be totally correct. The ISDN ANSWER1 and ISDN ANSWER2 commands are for BRI caller ID and as you say defines if you want to accept calls from one or two numbers on that BRI. Thought this command is relatively new and I have never used it, it seems that would allow two different 64K calls at the same time.

On the other hand, I have many ISDN CALLER numbers authorized on an ISDN PRI with the intention of accepting multiple 128K calls at the same time as backup for the remote site's frame relay.

Hope this helps,
