Author 5000 series question

Guys, I hate Sybex to the core. Sybex is telling me that the Catalyst 5000 series does not enable MLS by default, then a few pages later, it tells me that it does come enabled by default for the 5000 series. What is the deal with this??? Anyone know the truth behind this, if it does come enabled by default or not? Thanks.

I'm not positive, but I believe MLS is enabled on the 5000 series if it contains an RSM module and yet must be configured if you are using an external router.

Yes. You are correct Townsend!

The MLS is enabled by default on the Cat 5000 series and 2948G. If an RSM is installed in the switch, the device is automatically included as a participating IP MLS router and needs to be further configured if you have this Routing part provided by an external router.
