I going to begin my studying for the Remote Access exam but have run into a problem.
The Remote Access book from the Cisco press has a copy write date of 2000. This seems rather old when dealing with changing technology. I've had good luck with some of the Sybex books, however, after reading the reviews for the Sybex Remote Access book, it appears many readers were not happy with it.
Has Cisco put out a more current book or is there some other source?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I checked on the Cisco Press site and found that the CCNP Preparation Library (4 books box set) has been updated
http://ciscopress.com/isapi/st~%7B5...log/product.asp
Also the CCNP Certification Library (4 books box set) has also been updated.
http://ciscopress.com/isapi/st~%7B5...log/product.asp

These were published last March or April so I'm assuming they are updates of the same box sets published in 1999 or 2000 (640-50x courses). I looked around but couldn't find all the separate books included in the box sets, except the ones for Routing, Switching and Troubleshooting. I didn't find the Remote Access update, which makes me believe it's not sold separately as of yet. This means if you really need the updated one, you'll have to buy the box set, and of course, you could also make use of the Troubleshooting book.

Good Luck!

Hi,
I found the right book for you...the one we have been using for the past 4 years! It is the same bible for the BCRAN exam and the one I used to recommend in all the forums....Remember its an exact replica of the student study manual avaialble at the Cisco Training partners...

This book is still vaild for the current BCRAN exam...unlike the BSCN-->BSCI nothing got changed on the syllabaus front...

Building Cisco Remote Access Networks
by Catherine Paquet, Cisco Systems Inc.
Publisher: Cisco Press; 1 edition (August 1999) ISBN: 1578700914

Best of luck!
