Is it possible to set up a router on a stick through subinterfaces on e0 on a 2501 router and vlans on a 1924 switch?

No, you need a 100MB interface or faster to do intervlan routing. I don't think it'll even let you subinterface a 10MB ethernet interface.

Not all routers do it either. 1720 has a 100Mb interface but you can't trunk on it. I think the least you'll get away with is a 2611....

Thanks for the help everyone. The 2611 is currently out of my price range. It looks like I will have to wait. I appreciate the advice.

Actually, 1720 has been EOS'd by Cisco and the 1710 and the 1721 BOTH support dot1q trunking.

Hi,
I know you will all show me dozens of links stating dot1q and intervlan routing can only be done on FE, but this is no longer the case as of 12.2T.

I was looking for this link yesterday and have finally found it. It's very restrictive on what hardware it works on but does work on Ethernet.
