I got a query about wireless LAN

| Anybody out there know much about BreezeNet wireless LAN.
I got a user with one on a quarry site and my NMS is reporting this:
"A remote WB10 with MAC Addr 0x00 20 d6 74 f4 a2 has roamed in"
Anybody know what this means?
TIA

| If I recall correctly Breezenet is FHSS 802.11 (not "a" "b" or "g") equipment made by Alvarion. I've never worked with the stuff but have been told that it's pretty solid.
I would guess that wb = wireless bridge and that this message is telling you that a bridge with that MAC address associated with an Avlarion access point. | |

| Thanks for that ccieToBe
Given that this message appears many times in the system logs of the attached would suggest then that the RF link is continually failing. I did suspect that another WB had roamed into the access point - not the partner WB, in other words interference from an outside source. But it looks more likely to be the RF link.

| It's definitely another Breezecom box, I did a search for the OUI.
Here are the results of your search through the public section of the IEEE Standards OUI database report for 0020d6:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
00-20-D6 (hex) BREEZECOM
0020D6 (base 16) BREEZECOM

| Thanks Mat
We know it's own now because we checked the MAC address. Again, it looks like a dodgy RF link. We got a third party maintenance engineer looking at it now. A useful exercise though, and a bit more learnt about WLAN.
Cheers
