| ok, guys. I heared that "You can register for the old CCNP exams till 7th Aug but can take exam six week later", does that mean that I can take 2 old exams before 7th August and the other old 2 after that if I have registred for them before 7th Aug. i.e can I take 901 and 606 as example at Sep if registration done before 7th Aug? | |
|
| I am very curious as to this myself, the wording suggests this to be true, but I do not know. | |

| Thanks, Lain for your reply. But is there any way to get answer for that question?. I have to utilize my cuurrent study materials for the old exams and want to put a plan to take as many exams as I can before retiring.
By the way, can I register for 2 CCNP exams together, I mean register for 901 and then for 606 before taking 901?

| From the posts I have seen lately it is possible to sign up for an exam before August and take it up to 6 weeks later. You just have to pass, otherwise you must sign up for the new version. I figure I just call prometric or VUE in the next few days and ask them.
As for the idea of registering for two exams. You can set a date and sign up for as many as you wish. Then you just take them as you please. The order you signed up/took the exams does not matter.
Hope that helps some. I'm soon to be in the same boat.

| Thanks again, Lain for your reply. Things now are clear, and I have to put my time plan to take exams. Thanks again. | |

| Hi,
The last date for booking the exam is 7th August. You are given 6 weeks after 7th August to select your date of comfort to appear for the exams.
1. Cisco never cares how many exams you passed already and how many more in your line-up mind. You take 2 before 7th Aug and 2 after 7th Aug, realistically no one would care. You can even take all the 4 exams after 7th August but certainly before that 6 weeks expiration deadline.
2. If you miss to appear for an exam or failed and could not complete any of those those 4 required exams after the deadline, now you are required to complete the rest of the exams but on the new exam pattern.
3. Question would arise Can I combine old and new pattern exams? Answer is YES but for a period of time Cisco would let you complete your rest of the cCNP exams. Normally it would be 1 year.
4. Another situation lets consider, I am a CCNA and its validity is going to be expired in another 1 month. To aviod my CCNA being expired should I take the whole bunch of CCNP exams?
First option is you can take CCNA-recert exam. Second option would be like you can take any *ONE* of the CCNP exams and not all the 4 exams.
Hope this would help. | |

| That sounds good to me.
Thanks. | |

| FYI, when they changed the CCDP track at the end of 2002, you could take the CID exam before it was closed down in May, but they only gave until August 31 to complete the rest of the exams or you'd have to take the new ARCH exam. Do some quick math and you'll find that's only 3 months!
