| hello guys
i have a crashed router, when i try to load the ios image, through tftpdnld , i get a checksum error, i also see that the flash is read only, but in other working routers i see read/write.
how do i change the flash to read/write.

I had the same problem. A friend gave me this suggestion and it worked.
There are two flash modules, each 8MB for a total of 16MB of FLASH. I would suggest
swapping the two modules, place the one currently in the "0" slot in the "1"
slot, and vice versa.
After you've done this, try loading the IOS image again. You may need to
re-partition the flash. Do a "sh ver" and look at the flash info. If it
says you have two 8M partitions, you will need to repartition using the
command "partition flash 1 16" in configuration mode. Before you try this,
you will need to issue the command "erase flash:2"
By the way, you will be in boot mode when you are doing this since the flash
image will not be able to be used when the cards are swapped.

| brilliant suggestion townsend, i just put one 8 mb in a different slot, it is working now, as the ios is only 7 mb, i was lucky.
now for another suggestion, my 2522 router is restarting every 30 seconds, any ideas?

| Might be rebooting due to insufficient RAM for the IOS you are running.
In the future to get a new IOS on a 2500 change the config-reg to 0x2101 and go from there.

| you need to partition the flash:
do a sh flash to current partition |
