OSPF - Important and Urgent

| Can someone please help me in this...
In the simulation question, which is most accurate to use:
If i am asked to advertise the following networks within OSPF:
Fa0/1: 10.60.2.1/23
S0/0: 10.60.4.1/30
Lo0: 10.90.20.10/32
These interfaces are preconfigured and i have been asked to use more specific subnet information in the configuration, due to the fact that adjacent subnets are in use or planned to use for future growth. Which is better to use:
Network 10.60.2.1 0.0.0.0 area 0
Network 10.60.4.1 0.0.0.0 area 0
Network 10.90.20.10 0.0.0.0 area 0
or
Network 10.60.2.0 0.0.1.255 area 0
Network 10.60.4.0 0.0.0.3 area 0
Network 10.90.20.0 0.0.0.0 area 0
What method Cisco prefer in their exams, or are both ways right?

| i would say the first
mask the interfaces exactly and let the routing do the talking

| I would say the second.
The first choice would advertise the specified hosts of the various networks, but not [bold]all[/bold] the hosts of the networks, like the second option does.
BTW, you'll probably see that (or something VERY similar) on the BCSI exam.

| I would go for the second also, though not sure about the actual requirements for the NP.
Both are correct, up until 2 weeks ago I always did it using method 1, however I have since been convinced by a few people that they are looking for the second method for the IE - which doesn't concern you.
The third line though needs correcting.

| yeah ... i've always been taught to match the interfaces.
whenever i get caught up in "what they want"
i'm not sure. | |

I know how you feel - You could discuss it all day long and still have several different opinions!!

| How true! I'd rather not try to get inside the mind of the question writer, thank you! That's a very scary place!
