New 643 exams & CCNA recert

| Hey you crazy cats, can anyone tell me if the new format CCNP 643 prefixed exams provide automatic CCNA recert?
I looked on cisco's online cert support & it states that the following provide recert at CCNA level:
641-661 BGP
641-871 ARCH
643-641 QoS
643-821 BCRAN
643-811 BCMSN
643-831 CIT
643-801 BSCI
So I'm presuming that the exams -once not in beta will provide recert - ie these:
643-821 BCRAN
643-811 BCMSN
643-831 CIT
643-801 BSCI
Also can you definitely mix the 640 current CCNP exams with the new 643 format?

In addition to the list you have given, you can also make use of any one of the CCNP exams and pass it to retain your CCNA status live. You would love reading this article.

| Just clarify this a bit...
I think I know that you can mix the new 643 prefixed exams with the current 604 ones to gain CCNP certification. That's more or less answered.
Now,I know Cisco has changed the way you can renew CCNA certification - where previously you had to get all your CCNP exams in full to get CCNA renewed now you can pass an exam with a greater difficulty & automatically renew your CCNA.
The problem is - if you look at the Cisco site (& some of the posted links) it specifies exams with a 642 prefix automatically renews CCNA - whereas the new beta exams for CCNP are 643 prefixed.

| Its as simple as you need to take any one of the exams among the available prefixes 604, 641, 642 and 643.
I think Cisco would credit the beta exams too for the CCNA re-cert. Currently the beta exams are well accounted for attaining the CCNP titles. Considering this case logically its highly unlikely that Cisco wouldn't consider it for CCNA re-cert. |
