Author Took BSCI beta test today

.. unfortunately, no results were given and from the wording, it looks like I may not know for another 8 weeks.

I wont get into the details but I can tell you that two of the subjects was not covered at all in the training material I had, and I'm not speaking about IS-IS.

I'm not too confident about my passing, to be honest. I skipped the only SIM question since it was in regards to one of the subjects not covered nor mentioned for studying on cisco's website in order to pass this test.

It only cost $50 so I"m not too upset about all that.

Ok, I'll take the bait!

What were the two undisclosed subjects?

Hey kris108 Don't worry it's gonna be okay..
and don't wait for the results just start toward your next step..

I want to ask something, if someone passes a beta exam does he receive credit toward the appropriate certification?

Regards..

Yes, if you pass you get the credit.

Let me just say that I did get a lot of OSPF WAN configuration questions and one IPv6 question. The only SIM I got was to configure NAT. Only problem with that is I dont remember how to do it off the top of my head and strangely enough its not in Cisco's own BSCI training or requirements for the test. On the other hand, I have started reading the cisco press BCRAN book and there is indeed NAT training in there. Somehow I think they messed up my test by including that NAT question.

My bad for not knowing how to set it up, however. After all, I should know everything, right?

Hi,

I can not believe what you are saying actually.. because there is no NAT in the things I am reading (Beta BSCI).

Was there a lot of BGP? This is the topic I expected should be covered least because we now have a new BGP Course and exam.

Honestly, I have been looking at this Beta BSCI test in terms of: EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, IP Addressing and Summarization.

Please, any advice would be useful. What was the simulation on, you say?

THANKS.

Like I said, the only SIM I had was NAT setup and the more I think about it the more I wonder if somehow there's a problem with that question being in there. The recommendations for studying and current training material do NOT cover NAT.

Also the IPv6 question. For a while there I thought Cisco had hired Boson to do their tests.

Hi,

Thanks a lot.

I am going to look at that before Wednesday. Actually, I did NAT in the BCRAN Course and revising it should be trivial, but I would have struggled if I would have met it in the exam without notice.

It appears Cisco is tired, if they can not go through the questions they have set to see which ones should not be there!

It is unfortunate that I can not cancel this exam at this stage (the place where I am can not allow); otherwise, I would have preferred just to do the BSCI 640-901.

Anyway, Thanks and hope you will get a Pass!

Hello Kris,

Thanks for your hint about NAT!

I really appreciate that and I feel for you for having no clue when you took it.

I can imagine. All the same, if it does not work out well, there is always tomorrow. At one time or another someone has to do an exam twice the way I experienced with my CID last month.

Again, Thanks!

Guys,
if you have missed this read my reply on this link. This would pour some light on the beta exams.

Anyone have any experience with the Beta BRAN test? VPNs,DSL and Cable Modems seem to be the additions?
