Sure. Anything is possible.

Just how much you'll need to "self study" for the CCNA exam will depend on your level of experience with Cisco routers, as well as IP addressing.

I've seen others state that Network+ cert is probably 25% of a CCNA. If you have very little hand-on experience, then you'll need to plan on a lot of studying.

I find myself agreeing with Anchor's post, yet again. I've read a lot of Anchor's posts, and I can say that his comments and advice are sound. We can only hope he continues this good work.

And why should you believe me? Well you don't, but I'll say this, I've been working in the internetworking business for the last six years, and I know a good advice when I see one. So, take good note of it.

While he's answered your question, perhaps what would be a helpful is where to start. There are a few references I would recommend:
1) Todd Lammle's latest CCNA study guide
2) A free publication from 3Com on Understanding IP addresses.
http://www.3com.com/other/pdfs/infr...n_US/501302.pdf
3) A good tutorial in the form of an rfc. RFC1180 - TCP/IP Tutorial.
ftp://ftp.rfc-editor.org/in-notes/rfc1180.txt

Good luck in your pursuit!

Thanks for the kind words, Moi!

Did you ever play the board game [i/]Life[/i]? In it there were Share the Wealth cards where you can benefit from another players good fortune, or have them share with you in your large "pay" space.

That's all I'm trying to do - share my wealth (of knowledge)!

Anyway, I firmly believe that collaboration is one of the best tools we can use, and if I would be remiss if I did not offer a suggestion or remedy. Likewise, if someone thinks I'm way off base or wants to add to anything I've said, great! I welcome a discussion or correction. After all, isn't that what this place is for?!?!?

No I haven't played that game. But I am glad you've put to use a concept of this game in your life. I'm not sure that the people who developed the game would've thought its usefulness in the sense you've demonstrated!

Regards.

I went to school and took an 8 week CCNA class. It was very helpful. Look around in your area to see if a college has any Cisco classes. It is helpful when looking at configs and design.
