Author BSCI and CCNA question

First, I was reading some of the info on the BSCI test and apparently there is no pre-requisit for CCNA any more. Is this correct or am I missing something? I believe CCNA used to be required for anyone wanting to take any CCNP tests (not so for CCIE).

As well, it appears the Beta BSCI test (643-801) is exactly the same as 640-901. I dont see it available in my VUE login but I"m sure thats only because it wont be available until 4/17 .. I do want to take the test by Friday 4/19 so they betta have it!

Has anyone else noticed the CCNA missing, or is the 643-801 BSCI available at your testing place?

Thanks!

Hi Kris,

I could be wrong, but I believe there is nothing that prevents someone from taking any of the CCNP tests without having taken the CCNA.

Of course, you will NOT be recognized as a CCNP (read: get your certificate, and acknowledged as having completed CCNP on http://www.certmanager.net/cisco) if you've passed all the CCNP tests without the CCNA.
I think this is what Cisco means when they say its a prerequisite.

My $0.02.

Good luck with your certification pursuit!
