| What is the default time before a route is flushed from a rip routing table?
I have found one source that says 360 seconds and another that says 240 seconds. Which will be the best answer.
Thanks for any help. | |

| RIP
Updates = 30 sec
invalid timer = 90
holddown timer = 180
route flush = 240

| I hadn't heard that, but it would suprise me if it did.
Topology tables are associated with Link-state protocols, which care about the topology for updates (EIGRP, OSPF).
Distance Vector routing protocols just blast out everything they have, so it doesn't matter what the topology is from their perspective. (RIP, IGRP)

| Thanks!
Todd Lammies book agrees with you on the 240 seconds. |
