Hey folks, got a quick question.

I have a lab and currently using 3 routers as bgp neighbors.

RouterB is connected to RouterC and RouterA. I've created loopback networks on each router and have advertised them into bgp with the "network x.x.x.x" command.

Routers C and A can see the loopback network being advertised by RouterB, however, RouterB cannot see the loopback networks advertised from RouterC and RouterA, nor can C and A see the other's loopback networks.

The setup is taken from a lab exercise.

I have turned off synchronization and implemented the no-summary command.

As far as I can tell, there's no reason why the networks from RouterA and RouterC should not be showing up in RouterB's routing table.

HOpe this is clear enough.. got any ideas?

Err.. OOps, my bad.

Not enough coffee yet.. I had advertised the networks with x.x.x.1 instead of x.x.x.0

Phew.. better put that crack pipe down during work hours!

Glad we could help!

All it took was getting it written down, right?

Well I decided to look at my running-config one more time to see what could be the problem and noticed the advertisement of, say, 192.168.1.1 mask 255.255.255.0 instead of 192.168.1.0 mask 255.255.255.0 ... just an idiot mistake is all.. glad I found it tho.. at first I wasnt sure that was the problem since it didnt give me an error when i entered it wrong.

And there would have been no answer from this forum, since I didnt mention that I had entered the networks incorrectly, of course.

Right!

Take refuge in the fact that you're not the first to have done that, nor will you be the last!
