| Hi Everyone,
I'm going to study for Switching 640-604 test.
I have Ccnp Switching Exam Certification Guide, Cisco Press, ISBN 1587200007
But this is for 640-504 instead of 640-604. I don't know what the difference
is between those two versions. However I want to have another book to make
sure that I can pass this test.
Can anyone tell me which book I should buy, or any better book for 640-604 test??
I can spend only for one more book and one practice test, probably buy Boson.

| I used Sybex CCNP: Switching 640-604 and did well on the exam a few weeks back. They've got a good CD with a couple of practice exams, and a simulator (not the best simulator I've seen, but it helped reinforce the basic config commands) for both CAT-OS and IOS-based switches.

| Thank you so much anchor40!!
I'm going to get Sybex then. How about Boson?
Did you use Boson for this test or any other
practice test? Or Sybex CD is good enough?
Thanks again.

| I used the Boson freebies, but I didn't purchase the full versions because I felt comfortable after comparing the Exam Objectives against what I learned in the book.
My two cents - wait to buy the Boson practice tests until after you finished studying the book once or twice. If you're not confident you can walk in and nail it, then get the additional questions.

| Thanks! That's a good idea. I ordered Sybex
already. I should get it by Tuesday.
I'll decide after I study Sybex book.
When are you going to finish you CCNP?
I'm hoping to finish it before Cisco change
those exams, and before I lose my job.
We expect lay-off. CCNP may save my job...
Thanks and have a nice weekend. | |

| Same boat with the layoffs coming. If I survive the layoffs, I'll be outsourced with the rest of the survivors.
I actually passed BCRAN on Friday and made CCNP and CCDP! What a relief! I'm the only one in our shop wiht both, so I'm hoping that'll add a little weight to the "keep" vote!
Now I'm going to push through for the CCSP before I tackle the pinacle, CCIE R/S!
Study hard, and don't be afraid to ask questions!
