| Yes, adding DSL and VPN configuration to the remote access exam.
I was going to take it until I read that.

| I should point out that the Cisco document that anastasia pointed us towards has some typos - the new exam series is 643-8x1 (the doc indicated 642-8x1) where x=
0 - BCSI
1 - BSMSN
2 - BCRAN
3 - CIT

Also this forum's URL parsing messed up the link in her post. Copy this string into your browser:

| So, right, cisco are changing the CCNP exam again...
Are they adding/changing a new module of the exam as they did with the BSCN or are they altering the whole system?
I cannae believe it captain - I've only just got the new certification kit from cisco/paquet etc...the latest edition!!! (luckily I didn't pay for it )
Erm, couldn't they kind of inform us of the changes on their website alongside the training- July 2003 & they've only just released the new training kit authorised by cisco - that sucks dick.
Does anyone have a link to the page on the cisco site?

| Hi to all,
I completely agree that info related to new CCNP exams can be somebodies sick joke so I asked Cisco's Certification Online Support for their official comment. I will keep you informed.
But still there are enough facts that I beleve some changes will come very soon (only hope that closing dates are not so close):
1. Cisco announced beta exams for complete CCNP track (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/learning...
080157630.html)
2. release of new CCDP has the same scenario; one and a half month after closing the testing period for beta exam 641-871 ARCH Cisco will close the old design exam 640-025, and Cisco gives us 3 months for achieving CCDP under old conditions (http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/10...whats_new/ccdp/)
3. CCIP is changed on 03/18/03, and as Cisco says, "the existing courses and exams will remain in effect through October 31, 2003, allowing an overlap of about 6 months after the announcement for existing candidates in the CCIP program to complete their studies and exams..." (http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/10...whats_new/ccip/)
4. Lack of new preparation materials did not stop them from changing CCDA and CCDP exams, so I can't find any reason why they will behave differently with CCNP.
I would be very glad with all that changes (e.g. VPN configuraton instead X.25, designing VoIP networks instead of some old stuff...) if these will be notified earlier and accompanied with right preparations materials... | |

| CHANGES OF CCNP ON 29.th OF APRIL ARE NOT APPROVED BY CISCO!!!
Asked them for announcement on 29th of April and closing exam date on 31.st of Jully yes/no???
Got the official answer, very diplomatic one, to frequently visit "What's New" page on Cisco site :-) and to create account on: http://www.cisco.com/go/certsupport and that was it....
So stay tuned, learn good and fast ... |
