| hi everybody
while doing the labs , i got a bit confused, can u please tell me correctly the following.
1. when does split horizon get(enabled/disable), in a hub and spoke conf, using sub-intf and also without using them.
2. can we have two sub-intf with one a point-to-point and other as multipoint.
3. when does inverse -arp get automatically disabled?, so that i have to give a map command.
4. can i have a DTE interface for a FR switch(2610 as a FR switch)
thanks to all | |

| 1. Split horizon is disabled on sub-interfaces.
2. yes
3. You have to use the map command on sub-interfaces.
4. yes .. you can configure the FR switch as DTE. I had to do that on my 2620 with the NM-4A/S module. Those won't work as DCE. | |

| Just to clarify the answer for your first question. Split horizon is disabled for point-to-point subinterfaces. It is enabled for mulitpoint subinterfaces and physical interfaces.

| Normally for Different Network IDs we use point-point and for the same NID we use multipoint
Any specific reason for that
what is the use of a Multipoint Subinterface and a normal FO conf without any Sub-intf, i am not able to see any Advantage

| point to point subinterfaces are the configs of choice in the real world. Multipoint adds too many potential problems to be seen anywhere but your lab exam.
