Did you take CCNP new Routing exam?

| Hi all,
I am preparing for the CCNP Routing exam - 640 - 901 ... the new version of course..
have any done the exam? IF yes... Can you please give an overview of the exam...like the subjects, protocols, simulations... that came in the exam... I have done my CCNA before, and the overview i got from the users here really helped me... hope i will get the same now with CCNP....

| I write mine in 3 weeks. Make sure you revise IS-IS as it is in the new exam i think. | |

| It was the hardest of the three I've taken .. switching and remote were easier for me.
IS-IS was covered it also help if you know BGP real well. | |

i passed my CCNP 2 weeks ago..u dont have to worry...the only change is IS-IS ..make sure to download everything on IS-IS from www.cisco.com..Rest get the cisco press book ..and for ur practise exams i recommend XXXXXXXXXXXXX guides ..they were real close to the exams which helped me to pass..Have a nice sleep the day before the exam and u will do fine...Best of luck | |

| the test is difficult to say the least, ISIS is there, cisco has a supplement for on their web site. But ISIS is not all that difficult of a protocol to understand. it would do you good to read it.. 2 sim questions, 30-40% BGP but all question directly out of the book, pay attention to the pictorial representation in the book and understand them.. A good number of summarization questions.. Have your short cuts drawn out before starting the test to get through the easy ones quick so you can pay more attention to the more difficult questions like the sims.. know how to configure OSPF in multi/single areas... | |

| I was in a class for the Routing exam and midway through the semester we were told that the exam changed to the new one. When our teacher found out he downloaded a lot of information from the Cisco website on IS-IS protocol. He also ordered the new book and photocopied the IS-IS chapter for us to. We than configured a lab running IS-IS so we were pretty much prepared. Go over the IS-IS info along with the book and you will have a good chance of passing the exam. |
