dear all

Is there a relation between the Flash size and the size of IOS image. recently i loaded a new IOS and the flash has no space left at all, just managed to load the file, i feel the network has slowed down.

do we need any space left in flash?

do i have to upgrade the DRAM for a new version of IOS.

what is the recommended DRAM size for a router with two leased line connections and an ISDN connection, for 40 hosts.
i have 16 K of ram and 8 mb flash.

regards
Mat P

The minimum recommendations change from IOS to IOS - have a look on CCO in the software adviser/centre for your specific version and model.

As I mentioned, these are minimum recommendations and depending on what your doing you may need more. For instance if you have all the internet BGP routes in your routing table you will need significantly more than you have - but providing you meet the minimum for your IOS you should be OK for what you are doing.
