Could anyone please inform me whether in the exam 640-604 (SWTCH - switching exam) config questions will be on Cisco IOS command-Based switches or on Set Command-based switches?

Hello Cariel,

it's been a while since I took the exam but I had questions on both set-based and IOS.

I passed the exam easily but last week I had a job interview and failed because I couldn't remember the command to set port speed on an IOS based switch!

I'm refusing to answer technical questions in future interviews...

regards
Peter

Cisco expect you to be well versed in configuring switch. You'll get questions on how to configure C4000/5x00 switch, C19xx, C29xx/ C38xx.

The last 3 papers I took included flash question, where you get to configure router, sometimes from scratch. Sometimes they may list all configurations command and you just have to retype the exact command on exhibit, but don't count on it.

Just follow Cisco's Exam outline and you'll be doing fine..
I took my exam last Nov, after flunking it before.

All the best.

make no mistake....no short forms of the commands are not allowed on the simulation/CLI type questions I mean if the anser is to type 'show run' it has to be typed as it is and NOT as 'sh run'....beware!
