| Hello everybody,
I plan to graduate this year in BSEE and need a project for my last class. Since my electrical engineering background and my recent Cisco certifications, I was thinking to build a simple device that is able to apply routing principles (a sort of primitive router with just AND logic ports that receive an IP and finds the destination network...of course using static routes). Does anybody know where I can find on Internet more resources that can help me?
Hope I don`t sound too complicated but any ideas will also be appreciated.
Thank you for your help.

| All of those certifications, and you cant build a network on your own???? Sounds like when you get a job, Ill be training you how to do it instead of you knowing how to do it. This again, would be the reason for the DECLINE in the value of the certification. Thanks alot! | |

| I thought I was preatty clear: my project is based on bulding a phisical router (electonics components) and not a network!!
If you like to be smart, be sure to be able to read at least.
Thanks anyway. | |

| ggmis65,
You were very clear, I think thats an awesome idea for a project, but I don't know where you gonna find the info for that.
SurfinUSA its not really "narly" flaming someone when you misunderstood.
Us, EE majors have to stick together.

| A PC running Windows 2000 Server with two nic's can act as a router, so I would think the hardware would be easy. As for the OS maybe a Linux distro.
Good luck, it sounds like a lot of fun. |
