I'd be careful posting actual q's!

Askyourself the question why is portfast used, what does it overcome, then decide which of the 5 use that protocol.

Portfast places a port almost straight into forwarding dodging, blocking, listening, learning for Spanning tree. So, I'd say the only devices that use spanning tree are switches, hubs and bridges.

Hi Mat,

I have come across some interesting views about a switch port being directly connected to servers and work stations and they have been enabled so that the servers get active immediately for their clients to reach them, something like that....i am sure i didnt explain it well but i would go for...

switches, routers, & servers.

i didnt clear my exam on my first attempt got a 722, this exam was the toughest i had even though a lot of people think its pretty easy. the new exam questions have really whacked me!!! and i had to conclude that you need experience more than studying from books to pass.

Javed,

I would say that portfast makes switch ports come up immdeiately (3-4 seconds). This is a per port (or all at once) configurable settings. Also not to be enabled between switches to avoid loops.

Then the question remains is it bridging or something else.

It is certainly not a hub because there is no stp, can't configure a server, there is no such animal.

As far as the support test, reread each question once you have picked it, be careful of tick wording.
