| Hey,
I have been out the loop for a minute and come back and they have changed the tests on me. My question is this. How much different are the 600 series exams than the 500 series exams. I bought the cisco press 4 book set for the 500 series exams I just want to know if I am going to have tp cough up some more money for a new set of books. Any help would be appreciated.

| Hi Rattlerman,
You should buy a router simulator or rent access to an online rack of routers. The new Routing and Remote Access exams feature simulated router questions!
As far as books go, your old ones should be fine.
Cheers,
Ron

| The basic difference btw the 500 series and the 600 sereies is just the simulation that is added.
The scheme is still basically the same thing and there is no addition of a new topic.
My advise is that u get some programs or software on router simulation so that u can be used to the real feeling as per configuration.
Ur old materials can still be made use of.

| The book is the same...the syllabus is the same but not the questions this Cisco wants you to gain some hands-on router expereince! No router go for the simulators, there are plenty available. | |

| Hi Guys,
We need to be careful about the content of the BSCI which now has IS-IS added to it.
So please read the post entitled
""Is bsci the replacement for bscn?"" using the link
http://examnotes.net/forums/showthr...&threadid=47003
Also make sure you check out the links.
Whether or not questions about IS-IS have appeared on the 603, I have no idea. I would suggest members who have already taken taking this test and those who are about to take it to let us know it they got any questions on this routing protocol. Only at that point will we all know whether it is necessary to include IS-IS while using the BSCN book.
Thanks and Good Luck. | |

| I took the BSCN in early June, just before the new 600 series came out and I can say that based on my experience and having seen posts of others, that the IS-IS protocol did not appear in the exam |
