Only you can know if you are ready......

| Guys, if it is one thing I have learned, it is that no one knows if YOU are ready for a test. How would anyone know if you are ready or not? They cant read your mind and say "Yes, he knows what he is talking about." ONLY YOU can KNOW if YOU KNOW the material. Stop looking for OTHER PEOPLES CONFIDENCE! If you are going to survive in this business, YOU have to have CONFIDENCE in YOURSELF, and these tests are no different. So, next time you want to ask anyone, "Am I ready?", INSTEAD, ask YOURSELF "Do I know how such and such operates?" YOU should be able to answer "Yes, I know this stuff!" if you are ready. If you can honestly say that, then you have confidence in yourself and you KNOW the material and you dont need anyone to tell you anything. | |

| I definitely agree with your opinion, SurfinUSA, however I'm not sure if you took the following into account.
You might be able to say yes, you are ready. But then somtimes, just by having someone give you a few tips, such as, did you review this, did you review that, you need a last minute review on this, and so on.
Then it kicks in. You realize you need to review this, you need a last minute review on that....
So I think, we still can't prevent members from coming and asking if there are any last minute tips we could give them, because these last-minute tips always come in handy.
Or may be it's the way they formulate the question: "I have read the Routing book 3 times, I have practiced with a real router, am I ready?"
This kind of question is the type maybe you are referring to. And if that's the case there's nothing anyone can do to make them ready. But if the question is something like "my test is in 2 days and I am ready, any last minute tips?", then I think the person definitely knows he/she is ready but he/she just needs tips as to what to review as last minute refresher or how to attack the questions or some general test-taking tips. I think this kind of question is okay, as they are not asking if they are ready. |
