| Hi everyone,
"""Cabletron TRMF 802.5 Token Ring Media Filter with LANVIEW"""
I'm wondering if anyone has used or heard about the above device and that it is true that it ALLOWS A TOKEN RING DEVICE TO OPERATE ON AN ETHERNET NETWORK.
I bought one of this device and used it to connect the router interface Token Ring 0 to my Ethernet network but it won't work. The interface is DOWN-DOWN. It tries to initialize but it always goes down.
Is there some kind of configuration I'm missing?
I was browsing Token Ring devices on EBAY and came across one of them:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...item=2035083878
The description states: "You are bidding on a Cabletron TRMF 802.5 Token Ring Media Filter with LANVIEW. This device allows token ring devices to operate on an Ethernet Network. Any questions, please feel free to email me."
I emailed the seller asking him if he knows for sure that it works and how to make it work so I'd buy it. He replied back that he has no idea.
Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks. | |

| Thanks Jods,
That information is for the TRMF-2, which is a newer transceiver. I saw it when I went there looking for information about the TRMF.
The one I'm talking about looks completely different and you could see a picture of using the eBay link in my previous post.
So your information didn't help however thanks for trying to help and I very much appreciate it. |
