EtherChannel issue
|
|
|
| Here it goes:
I have a Cisco switch -- CAT 2924XL -- that connects to a NAS unit made by Dell. I want to use EtherCHannel between the two. On the NAS, I have a 4 port NIC. The switch is configured with 4 contiguous ports in a group, and they are supposed to give me EtherChannel connectivity between the two device. However, transfer speed are so slow that it is clearnly not working. Prior to the 2924XL switch, there was a cisco CAT 2940 switch, and it all worked perfectly. Ideas? (short of putting old switch in )

| my understanding was that you can only configure
etherchannel between networking devices (ie
switches)
and not a nas which i'm assuming is just a host.
does the nas support it ?
or are you just configuring between the switchports in question ?
more research needed.

| THe NAS was already using EtherChannel with a 2940 switch, so clearly it is feasable. I feel like I am missing something in terms of the config or something like that. Thanks for looking into it | |

| Does your NAS server have 2 NICs?
Are they (NICs) configured correctly for load balancing?
