| Hey guys...
The market is down... but you can't let that get into your head... "change" is the buzz word in management theory and it sure makes sense here... you have to be willing to ride with the market condition and demand... demand for IT jobs may be down, but it's not out. You have to upgrade your skill sets... look into security, VOIP, database, software design...
my advice: knock on doors, there are lots of companies (small/medium sized businesses) need help with their IT stuff. write a marketing letter, a proposition letter, a begging letter... whatever you have to do to show to these companies your strengths and expertise... don't know how to write one, read book, get help... don't just sit there and wait for companies to call you back cuz it aint going to happen in this market.
ever looking to start your own company??? this is the best time to do it... don't be just an IT guy, be an IT entrepreneur, a consultant, an IT instructor, an IT marketer...
There's a saying in The Shawshank Redemption:
Get busy living or get busy dying. That's God damn right!
haven't seen that movie, go rent one, it will inspire you. i guarantee it. |
