Alright,

Serious Question...

How long does it take (or did it take) after you guys completed your CCNA to obtain your CCNP? ( or how long is it taking???)

Also, how much experience did you guys have before starting/completeing your CCNP/DP?

Just curious... thanks guys!

experience prior to starting the CCNP was 4 years. 2 years before getting CCNA and it took me about 6 months after decided I should go ahead get started. However, Routing and Remote Access was fairly easy for me as I worked for an ISP and Telco and did tons of ISDN, Frame Relay, OSPF and BGP.
Switching was my hardest because I had never touched a switch larger than 2900 series and very little on that.

I used 11 months to complete the CCNP after the certification of CCNA. (4 months for CCNA)

Exp.? I just have 8 yrs. exp. in M$ & Novell networks. Cisco? only very little, and can even be said "no".

In fact I am not a IT guy. I am working in HR & Admin. field in a real est. company but also admin. a stub network (the corporate network is admin. by HQ).

If eveyrthing works fine, one can use 3 wks or a month to prepare and write one of the modules of the CCNP track. Everything all depends on ur interest, time to read and readiness for the exam.

If all necessary materials are available and u do not want to rush the exam, I ll advise that u write one exam every 3 months, so in one yr, u complete ur CCNP track.
