Can some one describe to me what it is meant when referring to SoftSwitch Architecture? I have not heard this term before.

Softswitch technology is a couple of years old but is still evolving with different companies having their own renditions. You should be seeing it in obvious ways like, but not limited to, VoIP and VideoConferencing. Check out this link and it should give you some basic insights.

The company I work for is going to trial softswitching shortly in the UK. It sounds very exciting.

We eill be hearing more and more about this technology in the next few years.

Hey, Subnet thanks for the article, it was a big help, now I just need to brush up on MGCP and H.323.
