Hi all!!
One query to the forum
I wanted to know the difference between Cisco 3660 & 3661 & 3662 Routers.
Is 3660 referring to a Router model or Router series? If Iam right it is referring to a router model
Can someone clarify this?

Thanx in advance

Cheers

The 3660 is part of the 3600 series.
The 3600 series include 3620 which has 2 network module (NM) slots, 3640 with 4 NM slots and 3660 with 6 NM slots.
There's also the 3631 which has 2 NM slots and 2 WAN Interface Card (WIC) slots.

Even though the 3660s are part of the 3600 series, they are still referred to as 3660 series when talking about the 2 models 3661 and 3662, and this happens on many documents on Cisco site. The difference between the them is there is only 1 Ethernet port on the 3661 but 2 Ethernet ports on the 3662.

The bottomline is there is no such model as 3660 because it is either 3661 or 3662. However if what is said about them has nothing to do with the Ethernet port(s) but rather the NM slots, then you could just call it a 3660 model.

I hope this makes some sense and clears your confusion.
