Dear all,

How much in detailed is BGP covered in BCSN exams? TO what extend do they expect us to know/cover?

Also, is the states of BGP tested? For example, idle, connect, opensent,.. etc? Just ondering, found this in the CCNP semester5!

Can anyone who has passed the exam on BCSN give comments on the BGP section? I seem to be seeing alot of post to concentrate on BGP section.

Thanks

I think it depends mostly on your draw. If I remember correclty I got about 10 - 12 on BGP specifically and about 5 eigrp and 5 ospf. I woud say I did get a lot redistribution and this was my weak area anyways.

I took the test today. Mine had alot of BGP questions on it, alot of OSPF, and some EIGRP as well. BPG was the big hitter. A few access list questions as well.

When I took it I was hammered with BGP questions. You will want to know BGP well before taking the test. Check out cisco.com for white papers on BGP, always a helpful extra study guide.

I had 18 questions . However I did get 90% on the BGP portion so it only took a few points away.

Good Luck

BGP was heavy on my test. I agree with Wiredchild. It's the luck of the draw, but I know that all you need is 5 areas STRONG to pass, the protocols and you will pass.

But remember, this was my experience on 503 NOT 603.

Kingsway,
I don't understand why you want to know HOW MUCH BGP is covered on the test. The fact is, whether or not you study them, you will surely, and I repeat SURELY, get questions on BGP, OSPF and EIGRP. How many questions on each of them? Nobody knows.
This is why if I were you, I will study them, play with them, sleep with them, enjoy them, dream them, drink them, eat them.... This way you will sit for the exam, armed with all the necessary cartridges so that if they hit you with any kind of questions on these 3 protocols, you will be ready to defend yourself by knowing the correct answers.
I'm not implying here that I'm upset or angry about you asking this kind of question. All I'm doing is just to make you understand my philosophy about these exams.
Good Luck.
