please can you tell me how can it be done,

Problem with autoswtich over Hi guys posting first time on this site,, well we have got one router (1700) with one serial and one ethernet . and have got one wireless link with one radio and one ethernet. and botht the ethernets are connected to the hub. all the clients are configured the gateway as the routers adress, and on the router(1700) the static route is configured to "Ip router 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 wireless ethernet ip" well th prob is that all tht raffic moves through wreless but in case of the link failure router still sends the trafic to the wireless. only in case of ethernet failure of the wireless it stops sending the traffice,,, wht we need is that in case of wireless link failure it should start sending the traffic through serial,,, my question is that ,, is that possible,? if yes then how .

well...please someone correct me if Im wrong,
but you could use the backup command on the ethernet interface so it kicks traffic across to the serial...much like dial on demand routing

on e0 interface,
backup Serial x

or is this only available with ddr?

Well there is actually several ways to handle this, but I am not sure that the backup will work as the interface in this case or as with ethernet will still be up. I would probably approach this using a routing protocol but you could probably just add this.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0 5

notice the AD is higher so it will be used only if the other route is not available. This may not work correclty for your specific network it will depend on how the wireless device goes down.

Thanks guys,

i alrady have tried that he prob is that , if the link is down it still sends packets to wireless ethernet coz as it can still reach the ethernet,, so ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 so only works if the ethernet of the wireless is down regardless of the link, and most of the time only the link goes down,,
any otehr way ?
