Hello everyone.

I passed my CCNA today, and I would like to know where to start with CCNP.

What books are best, software, etc...

Any info is greatly appreciated.

start here

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/10...grams/ccnp.html

read everything, check the online support. understand what this is rather than just think, oh ccna than ccnp.

this is suppose to be a professional level cert. as such, imo one would be expected to self help, research, perform the task with minimal supervision/hand holding. You have to read/study and formulate a plan of attack.

When I first joined this forum, I changed the display date to go all the way to the beginning, browse through most posts (specially the ones that seem interesting, large thread etc to get a feeling of the forum and also gather all fact that I may ahve miss or insight shared by others. I would suggest you atleast go back to posts from the last few months, like 6...

by doing the above, you would cover everything you want to know now... book recommendation, software, suggestion for lab setup and other stuff...

as with web searches, the information is all there. the forum has tons of information, its just whether you want to help yourself to them or have them handed to you.

now, congrat on ccna. this forum is populated by many many great people and very experienced people and has been a great help to me and I am sure it will be a great help to you.
