Hello,

I'm pretty sure a few months ago I saw a list of recommended hardware for the CCNP exam on the Cisco web site. It might have been somewhere else but I can't find it. Does anyone have the URL for such a list?

Thanks guys!

I am following the general guideline from ccxxproductions.com

I don't think there is a official list from cisco for ccnp, everyone just building lab in accordance to ccie lab setup.

Mikeop - I looked at the equipment list for the lab setup...that's definitely way more than I can spend and more than my employer will dedicate to training.

Guess I'm out of luck.

Have you considered a simulator? I used the one by RouterSim. It has drawbacks. You are limited to what commands you can use and you kind of have to stay with the lab exercises as they are written.
They make one for the CCNP track. It has labs set up to practice most of the important stuff that will appear on the tests. It did help me with the remote access exam. I'm not sure how much it cost because it came as part of a training package but you can check them out at www.routersim.com. ----- Good luck.

I checked the Cisco web site but nothing of that kind exists. All you get from there is that Cisco training is not for just one kind of product so there's no such list.
However, if you could get a lab book, it could specify in the introduction the equipment requirement of the labs.
Cisco Network Academy lab books for example have a list of equipement. The minimum requirement is 3 2600 or 2500 series routers, each with at least a LAN interface, an A/S serial interface, an ISDN BRI, an AUX port. Also you will need an external modem for each router. This is the just for Remote Access.
For the Routing, each router needs to have at least 2 serials.
For Switching, you will need the Catalyst 1900, 2900, 4000 series. I can't remember if the Catalyst 3500 series and 6000 series are included as well.
For Support, you just use what you have for the 3 other courses.
I hope this helps.
