| Hi all,
Since I am not familiar with SNA and currently I have a project to connect a pool of WinNT workstations from a site to access DB of remote site where AS400 is placed. Any suggestion of the setup? any idea is welcome, thanks. | |

| hi
you can connect your windows nt boxes thru a router which supports DLSW. the DLSW has to be enabled on both the routers if the as400 has to be connected over WAN. hope this will give you some idea. for further details u can refer cisco press book on SNA.

Does your AS400 have an IP stack? It doesn't matter if the NT boxes run IP if the AS400 can't. The NT boxes can use IP for other communications but still drop LLC2 frames on the network to be dlsw'd across the WAN to the AS400. So what really matters is what the common protocol between the two will be.
Configuring DLSW in this scenario is very easy. Are the devices ethernet, token ring or SDLC attached?
