Hey Guys,

I think I need ur help right now because im spending too much time with our new 7507 router. The problem is my router running IOS 12.1(5) is not detecting my dual Fast Ethernet adapter on a VIP2-40. At first cisco IOS 12.1(2) is not really supporting PA-2FE TX and i was informed to upgrade it to Cisco IOS 12.1(5) and I can confirm it that it supports PA-2FE interface. I have 20 MB of Flash MEM, 128 MB on my RSP2, CISCO 12.1(5) but when i issue a show run it only detects the serial, HSsi, RSP2 interfaces... I am really losing my patience here but I thank this forum coz I know for sure somebody there will enlighten me.

Thanks a lot and waiting for your reply.

CHEERS!!!

Who told you this? According to the hardware software compatability matrix, the minimum releases for the PA-2FE TX interface on a 7500 is:
12.0(15)S, 12.1(5)E, 12.1(6), 12.2(2)T, 12.2(3)

But who can say these days?

Hi MadChef,

The funny thing here, is that CISCO guys told me to do that to upgrade it to CISCO IOS12.1(5). But we have the same IOS running on our network which also hold 2 PA-2FE and that IOS is the same IOS I loaded on my new flash mem on the new router. Weird isn't ? But just ask some pointers to look onto I would really appreciate it because I am running out of options now in my isolation.

Thanks.

A quick search on CCO returns that the Cisco IOS Release 12.1(5)E or a later release of Cisco IOS Release 12.1 E...

I spent many hours with 12.1(5) and it didn't work.

Went back to the TAC website and found 12.1(6)

I'm running it successfully on a 7513 and 7507

Good luck..........................
