| Hi guys, I have a cisco 1601 which I use for home labs which has developed a strange error code upon booting:
getdirent: bad file magic number, possibly out of sync an alternate boot helper program is not specified monitor variable "BOOTLDR" is not set) and unable to determine first file in bootflash loadprog: error - on file open boot: cannot load "cisco2-C1600"
The strange thing is it doesn't seem to effect the operation of the router. It is running image c1600-y-l.113-11b.bin.
Anyone come across this one before??? I have tried reloading images, swapping flash cards etc and it won't go away!!!
Cheerz,

| Check that the config-register value is 0x2102 & that there is no 'boot system' command in your config. I encountered a similar problem the other day when performing an IOS upgrade on a 1600 router that I use at home. It was a run from flash router that I needed to boot into boot rom mode.
Just an idea. Let me know how you get on!

| Prob Fixed.
The Config Reg was OK but I swapped flash card with a friends and its now OK. When I get a chance I'll TFTP the image back across and I think it will be fixed.
Thanks Dillon
