I Passed Bscn, But What A Drama!!!

| Hey
I passed BSCN first go.
On the way to the exam, I had a guy in a van pull a u turn in front of me on my race bike..so I slammed into the side of him at 15km/h, wrecking the fairings and headlights on my zxr400. Cold tyres dont stop well...anyway insurance will deal with that!
I got to the place on time still and started but halfway thru exam I started shaking like a leaf with delayed shock and pretty much rattled through the second half of the exam as quick as I could...still passed, but my mark could have been better.
15 odd questions on EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, Controlling routing updates and a few comparison questions etc. Know your commands, Understand BGP really well and addressing like VLSM and CIDR and route summarization.
69 questions in total NOT 62 are some sites say!
I had 10 minutes to spare, so not too much mucking around time.
The BSCN book is the BOMB! No need to read anything else, just that book but I did find 6 mistakes...watch out for Local Preference and Weight details in book, sometimes they are the wrong way around.
Use the Foundation summary in the back of each chapter to learn all commands. The exhibits that cisco use supply all the commands from those.
Learn NBMA and point to multi point very well too..they supply configs and ask quaestions.
Oh yes, if you find this helpful, send me your VISA details...haha..Im off for a bourbon!

Pity the Bcran book sucks so much XXX !!! while the Support book is only so-so.

| Like mcoates, I passed this one today as well! As far as the test is concerned, I had pretty much what mcoates mentioned in his post.
Feels good being a CCNP!

P.S. After taking this one, I realize how much I don't know. Damn!!!

| Yup, next week I am doing the switching course! Will let you know how that goes.
I did BSCN course and did 3 weeks study, but this time I am gonna try to do exam closer to course completion time while info is fresher in my mind...

| Ironically enuf . . .I wrecked my Rodeo the afternoon I passed my Routing test. Like yours, mine was not my fault, some hoser in a geo storm slammed into me and threw my truck against the concrete barrier. Mine happened after my test though.
Way to go on passing - its definately the toughest CCNP test !!!!
Peace,

| Congrats on the pass!! And talk about drama!! Hope you're allrite though.
Perhaps it's time to get your hands a Super Blackbird?!? Kawa's are kinda tough to handle...
Anyway, congrats again!

| Super Blackbirds are only good on long straights...no good in NZ...roads arent good enough...
I race my ZXR400 in F3...The front end on my Kwak is legendary,,,awesome handling...even better on my Kawasaki dirtbike...just been for a twilight forest ride...120 riders on a 20km loop...awesome!

| It's okay to talk to yourself, and even answer back. But if you say "huh?" to your own conversation, then you've got real problems!
Tha's pretty funny REamer. Good job on the tests! |
