| I just passed the CCNA last Saturday and I want to start into the CCNP. I see lots of info. on the forums concerning IGRP. CCNA books I read didn't go into too much detail at all on IGRP. Should I start CCNP or am I missing valuable knowledge from my CCNA studies??? I am a student right now with no experience other than routersim. I have an interview coming up however, with a company who does lots of WANs for several companies. | |

| I would not worry too much on IGRP. the Cisco books "refresh" you on it in the first chapter. Basically to remind you what a Distance Vector Protocol is. SOme RIP in there as well...THe lammle book dos the same thing.
If you feel confident with Distance vector then dont go out and focus on IGRP.
Howerver a good understanding of IGRP makes EIGRP that much easier...but EIGRP is the easiest of the three focused protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) for the 503.
What I would do is go to Cisco's site and read the white paper of IGRP...easy read.
Hope that helps. |
