| Hi guys I passed routing , here are some tips
* Know your basic things about each protocol :Link State , Distance Vector ,Full ,Partial Update .You can easily get 20-40 % quizzed on this easy stuff . Especially look at classless/classful and why they are called that , there are TONS of freebies containging these.
* Look at redistribution , especially best practises , how to redistribute static
*I didn't really have to many show commands so that might be a good/bad thing for you
*Stubs / Totally Stubs :Know what they are and especially how they are configured. What they can forward etc etc
*Distribute lists / Prefix and All things filtering should carefully be looked at .
* Look at Eigrp bandwidth stuff :ip bandwidth-percentage , how to give each vs a allocated ammount of bw
* Ospf Router states should be given a looksie esp full state and what it entails
*Know the Ad's of your well known protocols for pete's sake
*When to use bgp/not to use Bgp
*Esp with the filteing and so on commands don't be afraid t ogo on Cisco's site and type in the syntax to see how they can look.

| Did you use any test software before going in? If so what did you use and how useful was it?
With all of the different companies out there I dont want to get a dud.

| I used Boson and Transcender
I would rate the Transcenders a Bit Better than the boson's though I wouldn't say any one of them really made a huge difference .
I suggest checking out my tips a bit , and working through those . The routing exam has TONS of freebies , If you know your work well. | |
